Type of securities and what they mean
Six types of security covers are offered to government officials including SPG, Z+, Z, Y+, Y and X. SPG is a security force offered only to the Prime Minister of India. While Z+ security cover includes 55 personnel – 10+ NSG commandos and police personnel. Z category has 22 personnel (4 NSG commandos and 6 police personnel), Y+ has 11 personnel (2 commandos and 4 police personnel), Y has 8 personnel (1 commando and 2 police personnel) and X category includes 2 personnel (only armed police personnel).
Shah Rukh Khan’s security cover increased to the Y+ category
Jawan actor Shah Rukh Khan’s security has been increased after he got death threats. The Maharashtra government increased the actor’s security to the Y+ category, wherein SRK will get 11 security personnel. The policemen would be stationed at Mannat.
Anupam Kher was given X category security
The Kashmir Files actor Anupam Kher received death threats after his film was released on the big screens. The actor’s security was increased and he was provided with X security.
Salman Khan got a Y+ security
Tiger 3 actor Salman Khan was provided with Y+ security from the Maharashtra Government after he received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. As per reports, the members of the gang were stationed outside Salman’s Panvel farmhouse and had plans to kill him. The actor was accompanied by two armed guards and some of the guards were outside his residence.
Kangana Ranaut got Y+ security
Chandramukhi 2 actress Kangana Ranaut got death threats when she compared Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Her statement infuriated Shiv Sena leaders. The actress was given Y+ security.
Akshay Kumar got X category security
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar got death threats due to which the Government of Maharashtra had granted him X plus security cover. He was reportedly accompanied by three personal security officers who were supposed to work in three shifts.
