Ryan Seacrest has officially replaced Pat Sajak as the Wheel of Fortune host however, long-time viewers are unimpressed.

Wheel of Fortune fans have made calls for Ryan Seacrest to be replaced before making his hosting debut on the long-running game show.

After hosting the beloved competition for four decades, Pat Sajak has decided to finally retire.

The 77-year-old has already taped his final episode and it will air on June 7 as the show’s season 41 finale.

Ryan who is a familiar face on screens and is currently hosting American Idol will officially take the reigns in September, when the show returns for season 42.

However, since he was named as the successor fans have continued to share their hesitation and concern on social media.

Ahead of his departure from screens, the Wheel of Fortune reflected on his hilarious moments with a montage on the official Instagram page.

In the comments, viewers reminisced including @brandyksu08 who wrote: “Pat and his humor Gosh I’m going to miss him!!.”

A devastated @happyjustknitting commented: “Only one more month,” with a crying face emoji.

@trishcthiede admitted: “I’m so gonna miss him. It won’t be the same without him.”

A third viewer warned Ryan that “he has big shoes to fill,” as another demanded: “Please get a new host who has a great sense of humor like Pat!”

In February, Ryan admitted to feeling the “pressure” and revealed the job wasn’t an opportunity he took lightly, especially as a viewer himself.

After praising Pat, he told People: “Do I feel pressure? Sure,” he continued. “People love watching him. I want them to keep love watching it, and I hope to do a great job as well.

“I’ve been watching the show all my life, and I’ve been watching it as much as I can as an adult and as a child,” Ryan concluded.
