The actress had claimed that she would be playing a heat-related superhero in an untitled MCU film.
Legendary actress Sharon Stone has performed many memorable roles in classic films in her four-decade-long career. Known as a s*x symbol in her heyday, the actress has worked with acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese, Wes Craven, Steven Soderbergh, and more. She received an Academy Award nomination for her role in Casino.
ADStone had claimed long back in 2016 that she was part of a Marvel film. At the time, she had revealed that her character’s superpowers were related to heat and that she could not divulge a lot of information due to contractual obligations. While she is yet to be seen in an MCU film, a theory states that James Gunn might have cut her role from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Sharon Stone Claimed That She Was Cast In The MCU

Iconic actress Sharon Stone took the world by storm when she starred as the femme fatale in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct. The film propelled her to international stardom and she became a prominent femme fatale in various films. She established herself as a s*x symbol with the role and she even earned a Golden Globe nomination for it.
After a series of less-than-stellar performances, Stone finally regained her footing with Martin Scorsese’s crime drama Casino. Her role as Ginger McKenna in the Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci starrer earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress as well as a nomination for an Oscar. The film is often regarded as one of the greatest crime films ever made.

Though Stone was featured as the antagonist in DC’s disastrous Catwoman, she has yet to be featured in a proper superhero film. The actress revealed back in 2016 that she had been cast in an undisclosed role in an upcoming MCU film. She said during The Late Late Show With James Corden (via ComicBook),
“I am going to do a Marvel movie. I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.”
In another interview with AARP, Stone reportedly mentioned that her character’s superpowers involved heat and that she would play a part in a yet-to-be-named Marvel film. However, the actress has yet to make her appearance in the MCU, and none of the films since her claim in 2016 have featured the Basic Instinct star.

Did James Gunn Cut Out Sharon Stone’s Scenes In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2?
A still from James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
James Gunn’s follow-up to the surprise hit Guardians of the Galaxy introduced many new characters. From Sylvester Stallone’s Stakar Ogord to Kurt Russell’s Ego, many new members joined the four Guardians in their quest to determine the past of Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord. Other characters such as Mantis and the Nova Corps also became part of the film franchise.
While the third part introduced even more characters, James Gunn had reportedly mentioned while filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that he had included one other character in the treatment for the film which was ultimately cut due to it being crowded. He said to ScreenRant,
“During the treatment phase, there was another character that was a major character. That was a part of the treatment. Although it kind of worked generally in the story, I got to the place where there were too many characters…I thought it was one character too many, so I took one of the characters out of the story about halfway through the treatment phase.
Though it was speculated that the cut character was Adam Warlock (who would be portrayed by Will Poulter in Vol.3), a theory also stated that the cut-down role could be Sharon Stone. According to the theory, Stone would be playing Nikki Gold, a member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy in the comics along with Starhawk, Yondu, and Stakar Ogord among others.

Nikki Gold also has powers that are resistant to heat and radiation, making it align with Sharon Stone’s claims that her superpowers were heat-related. It was also speculated that the actress could be playing Starhawk a.k.a Aleta Ogord, who also has the ability to create fire and manipulate light. However, Michelle Yeoh ended up playing the role in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
