As Taylor Swift chugged a beer in celebration of her boyfriend Travis Kelce making it to the Super Bowl, some fans were left fuming at the stunt calling the singer a “sh** role model.”

As the 34-year-old singer cheered on the Kansas City Chiefs she was broadcasted from her exclusive suite onto the jumbotron screen. As she saw herself and her bestie Ashley Avignone plastered onto the live scoreboard she took the moment to throw back a beer in support for her man taking on the San Francisco 49ers. While some thought the act was playful and fun, others were outraged at the move calling her a bad role model for young viewers at home.

Super Bowl viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, sharing their takes on the moment. One person wrote: “Particularly enjoyed Taylor Swift chugging beer and her boyfriend assaulting his coach. Awesome role models!” And another added: “Chugging a beer makes you look like white trash when you’re Taylor Swift.” And a third wrote: “Taylor Swift chugging beer. Disgusted with her! Yeah … that’s a role model you want for your little girl.”

 

Others called attention to her close friend rapper Ice Spice – legally Isis Naija Gaston – standing next to her during the moment as she held up her cross necklace upside down and did “Satanic gestures” for the big screen. Although it is not confirmed what exactly the 24-year-old singer was doing, many bashed the rapper claiming that she was “summoning demons” with the bizarre gestures.

While many were outraged by Taylor’s beer chugging, Swifties fiercely defended the singer. One fan wrote: “OH MY GOD IM CONSERVATIVE AS THEY COME BUT ALL YALL PEARL CLUTCHING OVER TAYLOR SWIFT CHUGGING A BEER ARE JUST PATHETIC. GET OVER IT. I GUARANTEE YOUVE SAID AND DONE WORSE IN FRONT OF YOUR KIDS.” Another added: “do they really think taylor swift is the only one chugging beers today?” And a third wrote: “If you’re still hating on @taylorswift13 after she just housed a draft beer on national television, your insecurities know no bounds.”

Despite the controversy, Taylor was over the moon Sunday as her boyfriend Travis and his team brought home the Super Bowl win. After the monumental win for the Kansas City Chiefs Taylor excitedly ran onto the football field as the couple embraced in hugs and kisses in celebration as Taylor was seen describing the game as “unbelievable.”

While her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s squad focused on winning the prized Super Bowl LVIII trophy in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift was showing her love for him. The music diva was at the Allegiant Stadium to watch her boyfriend the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, play in his fourth Super Bowl in just 5 years.

Taylor was seen watching the game with friends on the massive jumbotron in the stadium during the first half, and they didn’t waste any time or any beer, per The Sun!
