WE’VE already seen some mega deals done in NFL free agency.

But there’s still some important business to come, with a number of teams scrabbling to sign the best seven players who are currently unemployed.

Justin Simmons has been with the Denver Broncos since 2016.

He made his second All-Pro team in the 2023 season and at the age of 30 has valuable experience to offer any team.

Cornerback Stephon Gilmore is even more experienced at the age of 33 and the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year will certainly believe he can still do a job in the coming season or two.

Reports have linked Gilmore with a possible move back to the New England Patriots, where he enjoyed Super Bowl glory in 2018.

Linebacker Jadeveon Clowney is looking for his sixth team in seven years.

The 31-year-old visited the New York Jets this week, and it remains to be seen whether that’s his next permanent destination.

Clowney, who has played in the NFL for a decade. had a career high of 9.5 sacks with the Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 season.

Safety Julian Blackmon has had plenty of injuries in his four seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, but missed just two games in the 2023 campaign and impressed throughout.

In his 15 starts, Blackmon registered a career-high 88 tackles, with four interceptions.

It has been reported that Blackmon visited the San Francisco 49ers, as they aim to go one step further following their dramatic Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill could well be a decent choice as a placeholder.

In week 6 of the 2023 season, the 35-year-old picked up a high ankle sprain playing for the Tennessee Titans.

He missed the next two games, with rookie Will Levis stepping in.

After that, head coach Mike Vrabel announced that Levis would be the Titans starting quarterback, with Tannehill his backup.

Cornerback Steven Nelson is on the search for his fifth team in seven years.

Nelson recorded a career-high five interceptions last season as the Houston Texans made it to the playoffs.

They were beaten by the Baltimore Ravens in the Divisional Round.

Wide receiver Tyler Boyd has spent his whole pro career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Boyd appeared in all 17 games in the 2023 season, finishing with 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns.

The race is on as a number of teams aim to bolster their options for 2024.
