Dylan Dreyer shared a message of thanks for her Today show co-hosts after their sweet display of support for her latest career achievement.

As the weather correspondent revealed earlier this week, her latest children’s book was published on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The mom of three first teased her new book, titled A Peek Out Your Window: My First Book of Weather, late last year. The book is the latest in Dreyer’s Misty the Cloud children’s series.

“Thank you @todayshow for letting me share my dream!” Dreyer, 43, wrote on Instagram after discussing her new book during a special segment of the popular NBC talk show. “And thanks to all of you for your support. I love bringing more Misty the Cloud books to you, I love reading to children, I love the weather, I love lift-the-flap books for kids. Thank you for sharing some of my favorite things with me!”

In a video clip from Tuesday’s show that Today posted on Instagram, Dreyer explained that her new book is “the one I’m most proud of.” She then divulged the meaning behind the title.

“When I first started here, Al, what do you say? ‘Here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods,’” Dreyer said, reciting the phrase commonly used by Today co-host Al Roker. Dreyer then explained that she invented her own catchphrase with help from her husband, Brian Fichera. “I had to come up with a phrase, right? So Brian and I came up with, ‘A peek out your window.’”

The book was partly inspired by her three young kids, whom Dreyer said “love” lift-the-flap books “more than anything.”

“What a perfect flap to lift than, like, a curtained something covering a window,” Dreyer said. Her new book aims to introduce “young kids to weather in, you know, a little peek out your window, and it just kind of gets kids used to looking outside,” she added.
