Romance rumours have emerged around Josie Gibson and Stephen Mulhern who were caught holding hands as they geared up to film the last of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Stephen Mulhern and Josie Gibson may share more than stardom as the pair were recently spotted looking cosy, hand in hand, at BBC Studios.

The moment was brief and took place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, while Stephen, 47, and Josie, 39, were walking outside of the studio straight to the set of the final episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which was watched by more than 4 million viewers.

Josie and Stephen looked relaxed, with the former rocking a camouflage jacket and a mint green T-shirt, her blonde locks styled in a quiff. Meanwhile, the presenter sported a navy jacket over a white top, paired with jeans.

But when the duo, who have been known as friends for a number of years, were questioned about the nature of their relationship by Mail Online, Josie told the publication: “I’m in love with Stephen Mulhern. There you go. But story of my life, I don’t think he loves me.” The Daily Mirror has reached out to their representatives for comment.

The This Morning star, who shot to fame in 2010 when she won the 11th series of Channel 4’s reality show Big Brother, is thought to be single following her relationship with ex-partner Terry, with whom she shares a son, Reggie-James, 6. Josie’s romance with the property developer began in 2017, despite them knowing one another for several years. They welcomed their son Reggie in September, the following year but split up five months later.

Speaking to New! Magazine, Josie lifted the lid on the sad details of their separation, claiming Terry had kicked her out of their home on New Year’s Eve after a heated argument, forcing her and Reggie to turn to a hostel for shelter. “He’s got OCD and just after Christmas, he went mad about too many of my shoes being in the hallway”, she’d remembered. “So I kicked off and said, ‘Well, we’ll go then!’ And he went, ‘Alright’, and bagged up our stuff. So Reggie and me headed to a hotel.”

Throughout her time in the limelight, Josie has been linked to a number of men, including her former Big Brother co-star, John James Parton. Josie dated the latter for just under a year following their exit, and her victory, from the program. In 2012, Josie and her then-partner Luke Sanwo were engaged, just six months after meeting. They went their separate ways in April, 2015 with Josie explaining the passion that had once bonded them was “virtually non existent” during another chat with New! Magazine.

Stephen, on the other hand, has kept his card close to the chest when it boils down to matters of the heart, although he was romantically involved with EastEnders actress Emma Barton, aka Honey Mitchell in 2008. The couple became close during the panto production of Snow White in Birmingham but eventually called it quits in 2011. Seven years later, Stephen told Celebs Now he hadn’t been in a date “in four years”, adding, “That makes me sound really sad! I need a life. I need to stop working so much.”
