SHAUGHNA Phillips has revealed she was left ‘shook to her core’ after doctors told her she is ‘obese’.

The Love Island star took to social media to share an emotional and honest video about her health with fans.

She told her 1.4 million followers how she decided to go for a full health checkup recently.

However, the 29-year-old was left stunned after medics revealed she was clinically obese.

In a video message that Shaughna recorded in January but only posted now, she explained: “They told me that I was obese.

“It isn’t a shock but it’s never nice to hear and the following the checkups that I had done they said I had quite a lot of visceral fat around my organs.”

Shaughna, who gave birth to her baby girl Lucia last year, admitted she wasn’t too sure what it meant.

She continued to fans: “I’m a mum now and it shook me to my core.

“I know I’m not the picture of health but I didn’t realise things were actually that bad and it’s kinda scary to hear it from, like, a medical professional.”

“I need to do something, I’m going to get my thinking cap on because I only have one parent because my dad died and without getting too deep, I just never want that to happen to Lucia.

“I just want to be able to enjoy life with her and not get out of breath after going up the stairs and stuff like that.”

Shaughna then opened up about her body dysmorphia and how she doesn’t want it to impact her daughter.

She explained: “Obviously I’ve struggled with my body image for most of my life, which is so scary.

“I don’t want that to be Lucia, I never want her to struggle with her body imaged but I need to be a positive example for her and I don’t want her to ever see me struggling to put clothes on or not wearing certain things because of how I look.”

While a fourth fan commented: “You’re so relatable it hurts. I totally know how you’re feeling but you really are doing great! Anything you can do to help your health is awesome too! Keep going girl!”

Alongside the video Shaughna has revealed she’s kicked start her plan of action.

She said: “Since then I have been trying to make healthier choices for my baby’s sake but it’s not easy is it?

“Especially when my soon to be 1 year old has 10 Easter eggs and I just want to polish them all off!”
