There are several teams that need quarterbacks this offseason and it’s expected to grow as two veteran quarterbacks will be looking for their new team.

As we await the official start of free agency in March, it’s a good time to remember that value is the most important thing.

The Jimmy Garoppolo Era is over in Las Vegas if it ever really began in the first place. The Raiders weren’t expected to bring back Garoppolo next season but it appears that he’s already on his way out.
“Garoppolo will not appeal the suspension and will miss the first two games of the 2024 season, but it is not expected to be with the Raiders, per sources,” Schefter wrote last week.

“The Raiders are expected to release Garoppolo before the fifth day of the new league year in mid-March, when he would earn an $11.25 million roster bonus.”
Garoppolo will not be able to suit up for his next team until Week 3 of the 2024 season as the veteran quarterback received a two-game suspension Friday under the league’s PED policy. The suspension stands to help the Raiders, who will be eyeing other QB options this offseason. The Raiders will likely cut the quarterback to prevent paying him an 11.25 million dollar signing bonus. He signed a three-year, 72.75 million dollar contract with the Raiders last March guaranteeing 33.75 a season.

The Denver Broncos benched quarterback Russell Wilson and reportedly already informed him that he will be released before another $37 million in future salary flips from guaranteed for injury to fully guaranteed.

Wilson and his wife, Ciara, are reportedly doing tours to sell their mansion in the area as they expect to not be living there anytime in the future.

Wilson had a bounce-back year with the Denver Broncos in 2023 as he completed 66.4 percent of his passing attempts for 3,070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and eight picks, while also rushing for 341 yards and three scores in 15 games.

Even if the Broncos cut or attempt to trade Wilson, there are seemingly enough teams out there with a need at quarterback that he should be able to maintain his status as a starter next season.

The same cannot be said for Jimmy G.
