The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly looking at one of the top 2024 NFL Draft quarterback prospects as a potential replacement for Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaking on Saturday’s edition of SportsCenter (h/t Adam Wells of Bleacher Report), ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels “is a name to watch” for the Raiders, who own the No. 13 pick in April’s draft:

“Jayden Daniels out of LSU is a name to watch, as I’ve talked to a few teams who have pointed out Antonio Pierce, who was with him at ASU back in the day, loves him. Of course, he went to LSU, won the Heisman, could be a top 3 pick. Raiders pick 13th, so they would have to make a huge jump to get up there and get him, but it’s at least a possibility.”

Garoppolo was handed a two-game suspension on Friday for violating the NFL’s PEDs policy, and the Raiders are reportedly set to release the 32-year-old. The former San Francisco 49ers’ starter signed a three-year deal with Vegas in free agency last offseason.

Daniels is a top-three QB prospect along with USC’s Caleb Williams and North Carolina’s Drake Maye. As Fowler explained, Las Vegas would have to trade up to get their hands on Daniels, whom many project to be a top-five pick.

The LSU standout won the 2023 Heisman Trophy after completing 72.2 percent of his pass attempts for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and only four interceptions. The dual-threat stalwart also racked up 1,134 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
