The Houston Texans have seen a lot of changes to their roster this off-season as another list of moves was made earlier.

The Texans have let go of two defenders; linebacker/defensive end Myaji Sanders, and Defensive back Josh Thompson. They also released wide receiver Alex Bachman.

Myaji Sanders was the only player to see meaningful playing time with Houston. Sanders played seven games in H-Town after being placed on waivers by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. He accomplished 4 solo tackles while also adding 3 assisted tackles for a total of seven.

Neither Bachman nor Thompson saw the field with the Texans during the 2023 season, and both last saw the field in 2022, each with a different team.

Houston Texans Looking To See Major Improvement In 2024

Thompson last played in 2022, seeing six games for the Tennessee Titans where he would register six tackles for the AFC squad. Bachman would be a returner in 2022, appearing in four games with the New York Giants. He returned a punt for 16 yards and had four kickoff returns for 94 yards.

The Texans are poised for a breakout in 2024 as the team finished in a playoff spot for the first time since 2019 last season under the direction of former franchise stars like Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt.

Houston also made a blockbuster deal with the Buffalo Bills on April 3rd, which saw them acquire Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs, who had an outstanding 2023 campaign in The Nickel City with over 1,100 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

If the Texans live up to expectations in 2024 and beyond, it is going to be a fun ride over the next couple of years with QB CJ Stroud leading the way.
