The Chiefs had success on defense against the 49ers, thanks in part to L’Jarius Sneed who played outstanding all year.
L’Jarius Sneed might leave the Kansas City Chiefs for a more lucrative contract, and if that happens, there are a number of teams who would want him.
A new report states that the Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, and Las Vegas Raiders are several “teams to watch” for Sneed should the Chiefs not be able to re-sign him.
Sneed is one of the lowest-paid CBs in the league, but that might change soon, considering the kind of season that led him to another Super Bowl win.
Sneed, who racked up 78 tackles and a pair of interceptions this season, is in the final year of a four-year, $3.9 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
ESPN’s Adam Teicher previously reported that Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is looking to get defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed new contracts over the offseason.
“Sometimes I look at our situation and I’m like, ‘I don’t know how we’re going to do this,’ but we usually work through things systematically and have a list of the priorities,” Veach said. “Certainly, Chris and LJ are at the top of the list.
“It’s extremely hard because you have two keystone players there.”
Sneed has been with the Chiefs his entire career since being drafted in 2020. With his help, the Chiefs had the second-best points allowed numbers this season, giving up just 17.3 points per game. In the postseason, Kansas City has allowed just 13.7 points per game against some of the league’s best offenses.
The 49ers scored 22 but the offense did just enough to bring the trophy home.
