The reason behind Meghan Markle’s UK snub has been unveiled, which comes as it’s claimed that many people in England ‘won’t be unhappy’ by her not returning

The reason behind Meghan Markle's UK snub has been unveiled

The Duke of Sussex will be jetting from California to London next week, but his wife, Meghan Markle, will be remaining in the States, with her reasoning now seemingly unveiled.

Prince Harry will be making a return to his former country of residence next week for an Invictus Games service at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8. Flying solo and without his wife, the Duke will be in the UK on his own for the 10th anniversary of the games that he founded in 2014.

It has now been revealed that Meghan isn’t keen on making a return to the United Kingdom any time soon, with her “wary” of getting booed. It has also been said that there are “many people” in the UK who “won’t be sad” about Meghan’s snub of England.

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden told Palace Confidential this week: “She does not want to return to Britain in a hurry. There are many people here who won’t be sad about that. Meghan will be wary of getting booed at St Paul’s.”

Also touching on Meghan’s fear of being booed, speaking on Newsweek’s Royal Report podcast, Royal Correspondent Jack Royston explained his views on why Meghan would not come to the UK. “The centrepiece of this visit is a service of Thanksgiving for Invictus at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Now the last time Meghan went there, Meghan and Harry were booed by royalists,” he said.

“That was during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. There were cheers as well, but there were certainly boos, and that was during a similar service of Thanksgiving,” he went on.

This comes amid reports that Harry is said to have invited his brother Prince William and the wider Royal Family to his Invictus Games service next week, although he “got no response”.

Page Six has reported that “a well-placed London socialite who knows the brothers” has now confirmed that “Harry had invited William” to the Invictus Games service, with “other members” also invited. Reports claim he got “no response”.
