Prince Harry will soon be returning to the UK for a special ceremony to celebrate the Invictus Games, but his wife Meghan Markle won’t be joining him for the trip
Meghan Markle will not be joining Prince Harry when he returns to the UK and one expert believes she wants to “further isolate herself from Buckingham Palace.”
The Duke of Sussex will visit London next week for a special celebration of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral. Meghan will not make the trip with her husband, but she will join him in Nigeria later in the month.
Meghan’s decision comes just weeks after Meghan launched her first product for her new business American Riviera Orchard. PR expert Ryan McCormick believes Meghan wants to establish an “independent presence” with this new venture, away from the Royal Family.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Ryan said: “Meghan choosing not to join Harry in the UK may have to do with her focusing more efforts on her new company American Riviera Orchard. At the same time, the Duchess may wish to further isolate herself from Buckingham Palace.

“Why? Markle could be tired out from the Royals or see the close association as an obstacle towards further establishing an independent business and personal presence in the US.”
After months of speculation, it was finally revealed Meghan won’t be returning to the UK with Harry. Royal correspondent Chris Ship confirmed the news on X on Monday.

He said: “Additional confirmation this morning that Meghan will not be joining Harry for the Invictus Anniversary service at @StPaulsLondon in London. But the Duchess of Sussex will join the Duke for an Invictus-inspired visit to Nigeria immediately after Harry leaves the UK.”
Harry will attend the Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, on Wednesday May 8. The special service will mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, with actor Damian Lewis expected to recite a poem at the event.
A statement published on the Invictus Games’ social media accounts read: “The Invictus Games Foundation will celebrate 10 years of changing lives and saving lives with a ‘Service of Thanksgiving’ at St Paul’s Cathedral on May 8th. We will be joined by our Patron, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, actor Damian Lewis and members of the worldwide Invictus Community to mark the occasion.”
While Meghan will be skipping the UK trip, she will join her husband on a visit to Nigeria. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are visiting Nigeria in May for talks on the Invictus Games. During their stay, Harry and Meghan are expected to take part in cultural activities and meet with service members and their families.
