Despite a few years of a much-publicised fall out, King Charles may invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Balmoral for a reunion this summer.

King Charles may extend an olive branch to his youngest son, Prince Harry, and his daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, and invite them to Balmoral Castle in Scotland this summer for one reason in particular.

The reigning monarch often retires to the Scottish countryside every year and is joined by members of the family from the Prince and Princess of Wales, to his own siblings.

King Charles was recently diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year after visiting hospital to undergo a prostate operation at a private hospital, The London Clinic.

Upon learning of the diagnosis, and after it was announced publicly, Prince Harry immediately flew to the UK to Clarence House to visit his father but was in London for a total of 25-hours.

It is claimed King Charles may want to see his grandchildren as he battles with his illness – which is why an invite may well be extended. A source told Page Six: “I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry. He may decide that life is just too short.”

The 75-year-old monarch has only seen the Duke and Duchess’s children, Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, a handful of times and may want to spend more time with them.

The source added that Balmoral was a great place for a reunion adding: “Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”

Charles has only met Princess Lilibet once, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth in June 2022.

It was reported the King was “delighted” to see Prince Archie again and meet Lilibet. Lili, who travelled to the UK for the first time also celebrated her first birthday in the country.
