EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were told it’s not the ‘moment for anyone to seek notoriety’ by a royal commentator who labelled Princess Kate ‘a bright light in an often troubling world’, following her cancer diagnosis announcement.

The Princess of Wales has been labelled “a bright light in an often troubling world” after she bravely announced she has been diagnosed with cancer on Friday evening.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were cautioned that this is “not a moment for anyone to seek notoriety” as Princess Kate undergoes preventative chemotherapy for her undisclosed form of cancer.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a brief statement just under three hours after Kate’s shock announcement and said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

The future queen broke the nation’s hearts today after she appeared in an emotional new video where she bravely broke her silence on her absence from royal duties the past few months and announced she’s been diagnosed with cancer.

Kate said she underwent abdominal surgery which was successful and was thought her condition was non-cancerous at the time.

But she revealed that later tests showed that cancer had been found and has since been advised to follow preventative chemotherapy.

The royal didn’t disclose what type of cancer she has but said she is “well and getting stronger every day”.

Now a royal commentator has commented on Princess Kate’s brave announcement and labelled her “a bright light in an often troubling world”.

US-based journalist Lee Cohen exclusively told Express.co.uk: “All of our thoughts and good wishes should be focused in our hearts and prayers on the Princess of Wales.

“We in America pray for her full and speedy recovery.

“She is beautiful and courageous and a bright light in an often troubling world.”

Talking about whether it’s important that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should have sent a message of support to the duke’s sister-in-law, Mr Cohen commented: “This is surely not a moment for anyone to seek notoriety.

“Let’s see who has the grace to comply.”

Harry and Meghan have been estranged from the Royal Family ever since they quit their royal duties and moved to the US back in 2020.

The pair are understood to “not be on speaking terms” with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
