A royal commentator claims Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have no chance of redeeming themselves with the public as they’ve done “too much damage”.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s chances of winning the public’s trust and favour back have been dismissed by a royal commentator, who claimed the couple have done “too much damage” and now it’s a “little too late”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have seen their popularity plunge over the last few years in both the UK and the US.

According to the latest poll by YouGov, Harry and Meghan remained the least popular royal couple last month, with the Duchess being viewed slightly less favourably than her husband, with 22 percent holding a positive view of her compared to 29 percent for Harry.

US-based royal commentator Kinsey Schofield said the couple have changed various strategies over the years, with the latest one being their “faux royal” strategy, which they’ve followed in order to win the public back, however, she said it’s now a “little too late”.

She told TalkTV: “How many times have they changed direction and teams? They blow through teams and they go through different strategies.

“Right now we are seeing them in their faux royal strategy. I feel like this began when they opened a facility in San Diego a few months ago. Then we saw this Nigeria trip, they’re talking about doing more.

“They’re trying to remind people of why they fell in love with them in the first place but too much damage has been done.”

The royal expert claimed it was their first strategy of attacking the Royal Family which cost them their popularity and people not wanting to invest in their success.

She explained: “Because their first strategy was come out guns blazing and take down the British Royal Family. And they signed contracts, they signed their souls away to Netflix, they signed their souls away to Penguin Random House with the book Spare and they had expectations they had to meet for the dollar.

“And not only did they lose very important family members in the process, as in Prince William and King Charles, but they jeopardised their relationship with the public.”

Ms Schofield added: “Because if you genuinely love the Royal Family and care about their future, you recognise that Harry and Meghan are a liability to the future of the monarchy and they are uninteresting to you.

“You are not invested in their success and they’ve done this to themselves.

“Now we’re seeing them switch gears, but it’s a little too late.”
