Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were seen catching up with their longtime friend, former tennis player Serena Williams at a polo match in Florida as Harry shoots his latest Netflix series

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted reuniting with their longtime friend, athlete Serena Williams at a recent polo match, as they gear up for their latest Netflix project.

This week, the Sussexes attended the Royal Salute Polo Challenge at the Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, where they caught up with one of the greatest tennis players of all time. During the polo match, Meghan and her close pal Serena looked in high spirits as they chatted and laughed with Prince Harry, checked out the polo horses, rode around in a golf cart, and cheered on the players from the sidelines.

At the sporting event, the trio were followed around by a Netflix film crew as they shot footage for Harry’s recently announced non-fiction polo series. This comes as the pair recently shared that they are both working as executive producers for two new shows, launching on the streaming giant, which are still in the “early stages” of development.

During the sporting event, Meghan stepped out in a flattering white halter-neck dres,s paired with pointed nude high-heels and a pair of dark sunglasses. Former professional tennis player Serena looked equally as stylish for the occasion as she wore a long-sleeved black top with a trendy black-and-white graphic long skirt with pockets, paired with pair of chunky black shoes.

Serena and Meghan have shared a long, supportive friendship in the public eye after first hitting it off when they met in 2010 at Super Bowl XLIV. Since then, they’ve created an unbreakable bond as they’ve supported each other throughout all of their career endeavours, including Serena’s clothing line launch and Meghan’s podcast. Before Meghan’s podcast Archetypes was cancelled, Serena was one of the star-studded guests on the show. During their episode, the successful pair discussed their work ethic, motherhood, gender norms and more.

In 2019 at a tennis post-match press conference, Williams spoke about her friendship with Meghan. She gushed: “Such a great friend and a great person as well. And always positive, no matter what. It’s so good to have people like that, just to know,” and added that she was “such a fan of the sport’.

The pair came out to the game to support Prince Harry on his latest project as he films for his new Netflix polo series. Archewell Productions recently gave fans a synopsis of the upcoming show that “will provide viewers with unprecedented access to the world of professional polo. Known primarily for its aesthetic and social scene, the series will pull the curtain back on the grit and passion of the sport, capturing players and all it takes to compete at the highest level.”
