Paddy and Christine McGuinness have decided to sell their mansion after splitting three years ago. The former Take Me Out presenter 51 and his now ex-wife, 36, had been living in the sprawling Cheshire property despite splitting from one another over fears that any change could upset their children, twins Leo and Penelope, 11, and daughter Felicity, eight, who all have autism.
While Christine was previously feeling “torn” about moving out of the home, it’s now claimed that she has become “desperate” to start a fresh and leave the property, rather than continuing to live with Paddy. Last year, a court ruled that the former couple could keep their home following their divorce if they remained at the property together.
Paddy and Christine have put the home up with a local estate agent and hope to make a staggering £4.4 million profit from the £2.1 million they paid for the Prestbury pad back in 2020. The couple had spent months renovating their home which now also has planning permission for a rear extension and roof terrace overlooking the greenbelts of Cheshire. The master bedroom also features his and hers dressing rooms.
In recent months, it’s said that Christine had become unhappy at their home and this led her to change her mind about wanting to move out and start a fresh. The stunning home which boasts both a traditional and modern vibe features seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a home gym and even a play room – complete with a ball pit.

“They felt it was best for a new start, for all concerned, which triggered Paddy’s decision to sell up,” a source told the MailOnline. The source went on to add: “Christine is at the end of her tether and can’t carry on living with Paddy… She is desperate to sell the house, split the proceeds, and buy a smaller property where she can live happily with their three children.”
Speaking previously to the Mirror, a source recently explained that Christine had contemplated the idea of “carrying on” with life at their home for the sake of their children. The source revealed: “As Christine has said herself, their children’s autism means they don’t generally cope well with change, and that’s why she and Paddy have stayed living together for so long, despite living separate lives.

“Moving out won’t be an easy transition for the children and that’s why she’s been so cautious to do it. A part of her wonders if it would just be easier to carry on as they are, but she knows that now is the time. As much as it’s tough, the kids need a happy mum too.”
Christine was given the option to “force the sale” of their home following her divorce but both she and her ex-husband made the decision to put their children’s needs first in order to avoid any upheaval and upset.
While many couples who have divorced would often struggle to remain cohabiting with their ex partner, Paddy and Christine have both spoken openly about their decision. The ex Top Gear host admitted that it was “easy” for them as there was no signs of a toxic atmosphere following their shock decision to split.

Opening up to the Mail’s Weekend Magazine, he explained: “Yeah, still the same. It doesn’t feel tricky. I think it would if you lived in a toxic household – God forbid. If I’m at home with the kids it’s great. If I’m working and Christine is at home with the kids, that’s great. If we are there together, that’s fine. As long as my children are happy, that’s all that matters to me.”
Since their split, Christine and Paddy have remained on good terms with one another with the former model revealing that they often sat down to discuss their work schedules to ensure there are no clashes, as well as planning visits from friends and family to guarantee that things don’t become too overwhelming for their children.
