Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has broken his silence on rumors that he’s about to sign with the Miami Dolphins.

Miami star wide receiver Tyreek Hill sent social media into a frenzy when he posted a photo of him hugging Odell Beckham Jr. during the Dolphins-Baltimore Ravens game last season. Hill wrote, “OBJ to Miami confirmed”, leading to speculation that the AFC East club was about to sign the three-ime Pro Bowler.

But Beckham took to X/Twitter on Friday afternoon to provide clarity on the Miami speculation. Judging by Beckham’s post here, it would appear as though an agreement with the Dolphins is not imminent:

Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the top remaining free agents available, nearly a month after the new league year opened. Beckham actually met with the Dolphins two weeks ago, but the two sides did not end up reaching an agreement on a deal before he left.

The Dolphins are coming off a fourth straight winning season, albeit one that ended on a disappointing note. They squandered the AFC East division crown with a Week 18 loss to the Buffalo Bills, then proved to be little match for the Kansas City Chiefs in a frustrating Wild Card Round loss.

Odell Beckham Jr. Could Shine In Miami

Though the 31-year-old isn’t in his prime anymore, Odell Beckham Jr. could certainly prove to be a serviceable playmaker in Miami.

Miami has Hill and Jaylen Waddle, arguably the top pass-catching tandem in the game, to headline the offense. Beckham Jr., however, could draw plenty of favorable 1-on-1 matchups as the No. 3 receiver in Miami.

The Dolphins haven’t won a playoff game since 2000, and it wouldn’t hurt to bring in a Super Bowl winner like Beckham, who won a ring with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 season. Experience always matters in the postseason, and that should give Miami extra motivation to get a deal done with OBJ.
