LaDainian Tomlinson is widely considered to be one of the greatest running backs in NFL history.
He is making major headlines this week after revealing a conspiracy theory about a former Chargers offensive coordinator or what he thought he purposely did to further his career.
In his career, LaDainian Tomlinson reached the AFC Championship Game twice (2007 and 2010), and was part of a Chargers team that went a franchise-best 14-2 when they were still in San Diego. Unfortunately for them, they lost 24-21 to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round.
That game is still remembered by the running back as the team had a 14-3 lead toward the end of the second quarter, but the wheels began to fall off. Less than a week later, Chargers offensive coordinator Cam Cameron moved on and was hired by the Miami Dolphins after Nick Saban shockingly left and went on to be the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.
During a recent conversation with Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor, and Ryan Clark on The Pivot Podcast, LaDainian Tomlinson recalled that game while revealing that he believes Cam Cameron purposely sabotaged that game so the season would come to an end fast enough for him to get that coaching position.

“What job did he get right after we lost? In my mind, ‘Did we just throw the game for a head coaching job?’
You play football a certain way if you’re up in the second half. How do I not get the ball? We’ve all had a chance to think about this stuff, process it, and the fact that someone gets [a job] right after we lose…what?”
LaDainian Tomlinson was tabbed as the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2006 when he rushed for a career-best 1,815 yards and 28 touchdowns. In that year, Tomlinson’s 31 touchdowns and 186 points that season established new single-season NFL records.

As for Cam Cameron, he was given a four-year deal from the Miami Dolphins to be the next head coach. Unfortunately for him, the Dolphins ended the 2007 season in last place in the AFC East with a franchise-worst 1–15 record, the worst record in the NFL that year and the worst in the team’s 40-year history.
In January 2008, Cameron and his staff were fired, via Wikipedia.

In his first year of eligibility, LaDainian Tomlinson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. Two years before, Tomlinson had his No. 21 retired by the Chargers in 2015.
He won two rushing titles, an NFL MVP award, and was selected to six All-Pro teams. LaDainian Tomlinson ran for 13,684 yards and 145 touchdowns during his 11-year NFL career.
