Football fans are disturbed and worried about LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels after a picture of his elbow injury quickly went viral.

On Wednesday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Jayden Daniels will meet with the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders.

In his post on X/Twitter about the news, Rapoport shared a photo of Daniels holding throwing a football. Look closely at his right throwing arm, and you’ll notice something worrisome about his elbow:

Fans on social media responded to the viral photo:

As terrible as the injury looks, sports medicine physician Eric Friedman provided some clarity on the matter. Friedman stated that it’s olecranon bursitis, and that it won’t effect the dual-threat quarterback at all:

Jayden Daniels is widely projected to be a top-three pick in next month’s 2024 NFL Draft, with many believing he’ll go as high as No. 2 overall to Washington. Daniels is ranked No. 3 on Mel Kiper’s latest big board at ESPN. It’s a foregone conclusion that the Chicago Bears will use the No. 1 pick (via the Carolina Panthers) on USC’s Caleb Williams.

If the Commanders pass on Jayden Daniels, he’ll likely go No. 3 overall to the New England Patriots. If the Pats don’t want him, there’s a good chance they’ll trade that pick to a QB who will want the Heisman Trophy winner.

Jayden Daniels Had A Historic Final Year At LSU

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Jayden Daniels had a 2023 season for the ages with the Tigers. He threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns against only four interceptions to go along with 1,134 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

Most of today’s top NFL quarterbacks have some mobility and rushing skills to their game. But Jayden Daniels is a special type of dual-threat QB with the ball in his hands, so it’s no wonder that he’s one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in recent memory.
