Dancing on Ice finalist Michaela Strachan has broken her silence after losing out on the 2025 win to Coronation Street star Sam Aston, appearing on ITV’s Lorraine

Dancing on Ice finalist Michaela Strachan has revealed that she’s had “no sleep” since Sunday night’s show, having lost out on the 2025 win to Corrie’s Sam Aston.

Speaking to ITV’s Lorraine Kelly, Michaela gushed about her friendship with skating partner Mark Hanretty, revealing that she felt “so chuffed” getting to perform the Bolero with him.
“I’ve had no sleep, I’m actually quite sick this morning, Lorraine. I think you can hear my voice is going,” she said. “I’ve had the most incredible experience on there.”

She added: “I think the win is the fact that we got to the final, I got to the do the Bolero with Mark Hanretty, which I’m just so chuffed about because it was his 12th year and he’s never done the Bolero before. The friendship we have created has been so unique and lovely – we’re pals for life.”

Michaela also revealed that she’s managed to avoid injury throughout the competition and that she won’t be regularly skating now that the show is over. “At Christmas time when I’m in the UK and there’s an ice rink, I’ll probably go on and show off some moves but the joy for me was skating with somebody,” she said.

“So the thought of going to an ice rink and going around and around on my own is just not so appealing.”

Michaela, appeared in last night’s final alongside eventual winner, Coronation Street’s Sam Aston, and fellow runner-up Anton Ferdinand. Ahead of the show, she revealed that she doesn’t feel her age despite being the oldest contestant to make it to the final.

“I think more people in their 50s and 60s are being healthy and getting outdoors,” she said. “I’m the oldest celebrity to get to the finals but I don’t feel old.”
