Meghan Markle is set to rival Kate Middleton ‘s brother in business, as the Duchess of Sussex hopes to rake in the cash by selling products from dog treats and chicken feed.

Earlier this month, the Meghan delighted fans with an all-new Instagram account that seemingly revealed her new business venture. Meghan appears to be gearing up to launch American Riviera Orchard, a new lifestyle brand based out of her Montecito mansion.

According to reports, Meghan, 42, has lodged papers to trademark the initials of her new enterprise, with the papers filed to the US Patent and Trademark Office also revealing that she has trademarked her brand for “Pet food; Edible pet treats; Bird seed”.

The Princess of Wales ’ brother James Middleton owns his own high-end dog food business, which is called James & Ella And this means that Meghan will be going head-to-head with her sister-in-law’s brother in the pet food industry.

James’ business stocks freeze-died raw food, kibble and cold-pressed food for dogs. The website states that James’ business came about after his dogs helped pull him out of “a really difficult battle with depression”. He writes on the site: “When I reached the other side, I set out on a mission to make their lives just as happy and as healthy as they’ve made mine, starting with the food they eat.

I’ve pulled together a team of industry experts and nutritionists. Together, we developed a range of food that contains all the ingredients and nutrition for dogs to live a long and happy life, but without any hassle.”
