Lorraine Kelly has spoken about Michelle Keegan welcoming her baby Palma into the world on her ITV show – and even speculated over the meaning of the interesting nam
Lorraine Kelly has reacted to Michelle Keegan’s unique baby name with just one word as she speculated over the meaning behind it, telling her viewers that the name is “fabulous”.
Speaking on her ITV show, Lorraine revealed to her viewers that Michelle had given birth, speaking about how Michelle and husband Mark Wright had named their daughter Palma.
Lorraine opened her show after the ad break by congratulating the celebrity couple, telling viewers: “A huge congratulations to Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright who have announced the birth of their baby daughter – that’s such a lovely picture.
“They’ve called her Palma – now Palma is believed to be inspired by their love of the Spanish island of Mallorca. Palma of course being the capital.”
Lorraine then cheekily added: “Maybe that’s where she’s conceived? Who knows – if so, fabulous.”

Yesterday, Michelle and Mark announced the birth of their first child – a baby girl named Palma Elizabeth Wright.
Sharing the happy news with a black and white photo of their newborn, the couple wrote on Instagram: “Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl” followed by a white heart emoji.”
They added: “Palma Elizabeth Wright. 06.03.25.”
The couple’s friends and fans flooded the post’s comments with well wishes, with Mark’s sister Jess Wright writing: “Most beautiful addition to our family. I finally have a niece and I am so in love.”
While Joe Wicks wrote: “I’m crying over here. I know how much you’ve wanted to be a dad and you’ll be an amazing dad too. This is the most beautiful thing to see. So happy for you both.”
Meanwhile, one fan said: “Oh what beautiful news!!! Congratulations to you both darling!” A second said: “Awwww congratulations!”
Fans of the couple have been speculating over the meaning of Palma’s name, with many spotting a clue that the baby girl was conceived near the Spanish island.
The pair own a luxury apartment near the city of Palma, which was renovated in 2023. “I wonder if they were in Majorca 9 months ago. An unusual but beautiful name,” one fan wrote. Another commented: “Gorgeous name, wonder if it has any links considering they’ve got a place in Spain.”
A third added: “A gorgeous Spanish name.” One more said: “Gorgeous name. Huge congratulation. Being a mum/dad is the best job in the whole wide world.”
Palma’s middle name, Elizabeth, is a tribute to her Brassic star mum, whose full name is Michelle Elizabeth Keegan.
