The host of hit breakfast show Lorraine, 64, pointed out pragmatically: “Prince Harry making a lot of the front pages this morning after officially registering himself as an American resident. Well, that’s where he lives.”

Weighing in on the situation with Royal editor Russell Myers on Thursday’s instalment of Lorraine, the ITV anchor underscored that even if some chatter suggests Prince Harry severed links with the UK, his home is now in the US.

In further remarks, Lorraine said: “It’s where his wife lives and I think the youngest baby was born there.” Weighing into the dialogue, Russell said: “Never a dull moment, first we had Meghan launching her jam range during the week and then we had Harry back to work as it were, on a Zoom call for his company Travalyst, a sustainable travel company he’s set up in 2019.”

Dramatically, he then added: “But, overnight we’ve realised that he has changed the details on his company house profile to change his residency from the UK to the US.” With all clarity, the Royal expert then briefed Lorraine on the importance of this turn of events, particularly focusing attention on the timing of the official modification.

He remarked: “The date of the 29th of June (2023) where he says he took up residency in the US is when he was pretty much asked to leave his Frogmore Cottage house along with Meghan and the family. Is this the clearest indication that Harry won’t be coming back to the UK in any form? Very interesting situation.”

Lorraine, chiming in, pondered the possibility of Prince Harry holding dual citizenship. She queried: “Would the kids have that? I don’t really know how it works.” To which Russell responded: “Well he might well do because he was discussing on an American chat show recently about how he’s considered taking citizenship.”

“He said he’s very happy in the States, why wouldn’t he be? Beautiful weather in California, Meghan’s businesses are hopefully going from strength to strength and we’ve got Harry working with Netflix and his travel company. So, listen, I think we might see him back in the future but never say never.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have set up their home in Montecito, California with their two young ones, Archie and Lilibet. Having departed the UK four years prior, their visits back have been sparse, though Harry did return for a heartfelt visit to his father King Charles amidst health concerns.
