Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for the first time in over a year, and has reportedly reached out to his father King Charles for a meeting.

King Charles has sent Prince Harry one four-word message after the Duke asked for an “olive-branch meeting” during his next visit to the UK, it has been reported.

The Duke of Sussex is set to grace St. Paul’s Cathedral for a service marking the Invictus Games’ decade milestone service after he pioneered for wounded servicemen and women in 2014.

Insiders say Prince Harry wants to meet with King Charles during his visit to the UK, following their fleeting meeting shortly after the monarch was diagnosed with cancer.

When Harry broached the subject of a meet-up, it has been reported that King Charles said he would only meet the Duke “if he is able”.

“Harry has kept in regular contact with his father on several occasions and made no secret of his desire to see him when he can,” revealed an insider, the Mirror reports. “He has been especially concerned about him and hopes the King will be well and able to see him as planned.”

King Charles has had one response to the prospect of meeting Prince Harry againDespite this, a Royal insider has confirmed that King Charles fully intends to accommodate Harry in his busy schedule.

His Majesty has only recently returned to public-facing duties following a period of private rest in the wake of his cancer diagnosis.

One royal commentator said Prince Harry’s attempt to meet King Charles on his next trip to the UK was a “self-serving” move to work his way back into the royal fold.

Speaking on her YouTube podcast Unfiltered, Kinsey Schofield said: “That’s the most self-serving olive branch I’ve ever heard in my life.”

She added: “That’s not an olive branch, guys, that’s a PR stunt… Unfortunately for Harry he’s – quote on quote – not getting much response. ‘New phone! Who’s this?’ Can you blame them?”
