The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton “definitely doesn’t want an apology” to end the feud with Meghan Markle, claims a royal expert.

But the Duchess of Sussex’s views on the fallout are very different, according to royal expert and author Tom Quinn. The two women’s relationship has been under extraordinary scrutiny after their fall-out was described in Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare. The Duke of Sussex said he had found Meghan crying “on the floor” after an argument with Kate over bridesmaid dresses.

Now Quinn has opened up about just what needs to happen to get relations between the estranged Sussexes and Wales’s back on track. In an exclusive chat with The Mirror, the royal expert said: “Kate definitely doesn’t want an apology, but Meghan definitely does. William just thinks the whole thing is a storm in a teacup and can’t understand why his brother can’t get over the sort of spat that many brothers have to go through. Meghan and Harry feel hurt by the way they were treated when they were working members of the royal family and William and Kate feel they were treated poorly once Harry and Meghan left and Harry published Spare .”

Meanwhile, Prince William and Princess Kate are said to be trying their best to end the feud. Quinn claims the couple have reached out to Meghan and Harry and urged them to bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK to visit. However, it’s believed Meghan has put her foot down and refused.

Tom told us: “There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK. William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

Meghan and Harry are not close with William and Kate and the Sussexes hit out at their family members in their Netflix docuseries, as well as their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry also made a number of accusations about his brother and sister-in-law in his debut memoir Spare.

In the book, the Duke of Sussex opened up about an explosive row he had with William, during which the Prince of Wales allegedly called Harry’s wife Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”. Harry claims his brother then “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor”.

The Duke of Sussex is due to return to his homeland of the United Kingdom in May, with it thought that he will fly from the States back to England for an Invictus Games event. There is also chatter surrounding how Prince Harry may want to meet with his brother Prince William, and sister-in law Kate Middleton, following the Princess of Wales ‘ cancer diagnosis announcement last month.

Now Harry is concerned about the same security issues that plagued him before. It comes after the publication of the date and time of Harry’s appearance at the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary at St .Paul’s Cathedral has raised concerns over his safety.

The Mirror has contacted Kensington Palace and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s representatives for comment.
