A massive trade proposal has the Kansas City Chiefs adding another All-Pro playmaker in a deal with another prime Super Bowl contender.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime of Super Bowl 58, becoming the first team to repeat as champions since the 2004 New England Patriots. Up next, Andy Reid’s club will try to complete the first-ever NFL three-peat.

The Chiefs’ retooled offense includes the arrivals of Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown (signed in free agency) and Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy (the No. 28 pick). However, 2023 rookie sensation Rashee Rice will likely be suspended due to his involvement in a six-car accident in March, as he’s facing eight charges for the accident.

With Rice likely to miss time, Kansas City Chiefs GM Brett Veach may feel inclined to make another big move to maximize the team’s chances of winning Super Bowl 59.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine proposed such an idea that has Kansas City landing All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the same 49ers team that they defeated in last season’s Super Bowl:

“Samuel has provided diminishing returns over the last two seasons but still had over 1,100 scrimmage yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Some of Samuel’s success has been due to playing in a Kyle Shanahan system, but Reid is one of the best offensive minds in the game.

The Chiefs receiver situation is easily the scariest element of the offense. Rashee Rice emerged as the top option last season, but his status for the 2024 season could be in jeopardy based on his off-field actions this offseason.

The Chiefs signed Marquise Brown and that should help matters, but bringing in another legitimate weapon would push the offense over the top.”

The 28-year-old Samuel and teammate Brandon Aiyuk have been widely mentioned in trade rumors this offseason. But with the 2024 NFL Draft over, 49ers GM John Lynch lost his prime opportunity to secure max value in exchange for either star.

Last season, Samuel caught 60 passes for 892 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 225 rushing yards and five rushing scores.

Deebo Samuel Would Be The Perfect Fit For Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl last season despite a lack of playmaking pass-catchers after Rice and Travis Kelce. They’ve added two more studs in Worthy and Brown, but imagine if Patrick Mahomes got to work with another superstar and do-it-all player like Samuel.

An offense with Mahomes, Kelce, Rice, Worthy, Brown, Samuel and Isiah Pacheco would be borderline unstoppable. And Samuel’s addition wold go a long way in maximizing Kansas City’s chances of winning a third straight title.
