For countless Marvel fans, the Merc with the Mouth and the wall-crawler are the ultimate duo. The two are quite similar as both of them have similar superhero costumes and love to crack in the midst of combat. The recent trailer featured a number of Easter eggs and glimpses of known faces that made fans believe that Peter Parker would also be a part of this film.

However, fans would be immensely disappointed to learn that Spider-Man will not be a part of the Deadpool threequel. MyTimeToShineHello (@MyTimeToShineH), a reliable industry insider known for giving scoops, took it to X to inform fans that our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will not be a part of the film because Sony has the rights for Spider-Man and they would not permit Marvel to feature the hero in the sequel.

Shawn Levy Promises A Massive Change in The MCU

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has always burdened its fans with watching every previous project just to enjoy the latest blockbuster. Shawn Levy has noticed this poor practice from the superhero franchise and promised his viewers that this won’t be the case with his upcoming blockbuster.

The 55 year-old filmmaker has made a bold promise of making Deadpool & Wolverine a standalone hit. He has ensured that his film is designed purely for entertainment, ending the need to do “homework” before going to a movie. During an interview with The Associated Press, Shawn Levy explained his plans for the upcoming film to be available to all.

He said,

“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies. I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world. But I didn’t want to presume that.”

He added how his upcoming movie only wants to entertain its viewers, and casual moviegoers can join in this fun without doing “prior research.”

Shawn Levy’s words would be music to the ears of casual moviegoers, as they would have felt intimidated by the daunting task of catching up on years of Marvel projects.
