FANS were stunned to see Michael Strahan’s face being drenched with water on live television by soap opera legend Susan Lucci.
The sequence between the New York Giants icon and All My Children legend took place on Good Morning America on Monday.
Strahan, Robin Robert, and George Stephanopoulos welcomed Lucci to GMA where she gave the NFL Hall of Famer a lesson when it comes to being a soap opera villain.
“Last time you were here, you put those chops to the test. You taught me the good old fake TV slap,” Strahan told Lucci. “So how do you take a good soap opera fight to the next level?”
Lucci then agreed and walked Strahan through how to throw a glass of water in a person’s face.
“I think it’s really important to not just out of nowhere, just all of a sudden, have a fight. You have to be in that moment where you are really, really ticked off,” the 78-year-old said.
“And you know what, a prop really helps too,” Lucci continued and proceeded to grab a glass of water.
Once Strahan and Lucci pretended to have a fake argument, the actress tossed water toward Strahan.
The Fox NFL Sunday star showed his shocked face, but most of the water missed him.
So Strahan asked Lucci for another take, and she wouldn’t disappoint.
Lucci doused a full cup of water directly into Strahan’s face.
And Lucci wasn’t done, however, as she was given a jug of water from a GMA producer, which she then poured over Strahan’s head
The whole sequence was posted by GMA’s account on X, and viewers were shocked at the playful skit.
“They crazy [laughing emojis],” one commented.
“I did not like that water being thrown,” another wrote.
“Gotta love Susan,” a third added.
Monday’s episode comes days after NewsNation reported that Strahan is considering leaving GMA.
Strahan is out of contract on the hit program this year.
The report added that Strahan wants to spend more time with his family.
He’s a key star analyst on Fox NFL Sunday.
GMA airs weekdays on ABC.
