TV personality Olivia Pierson has been very open about her struggles with adult acne, having started to suffer from the skin condition after coming off birth control

Kim Kardashian is always on the lookout for the latest skincare trend to keep her looking incredible and it seems her close pal Olivia Pierson has the perfect thing.

Olivia started struggling with adult acne after coming off birth control and she tried everything to try and manage the skin condition. When medication didn’t help, the TV personality decided she wanted to try a more natural approach to get to the root of the problem.

While searching for a solution, Olivia came across Glow Beauty – The Gut Lab Inc. Speaking to The Mirror about her experience, Olivia said: “I personally find, yes medication at times is useful and good and use it as need it, but for me personally with acne, I was just covering the problem.

“It was just a Band-Aid because it kept coming back. So with Glow, I finally found something to heal the root so it doesn’t come back again. I personally think it’s better than acne medication because you’re just always covering up the problem with those medications, whereas with Glow, you’re figuring out why exactly it’s popping up in the first place.”

Olivia saw results almost instantly when she started using Glow. She told us: “For my programme, I did no sugar, no dairy, no gluten, no alcohol. I noticed the no sugar within like four days. That foggy sugar cloud that’s over your head that you don’t realise starts to lift.

“Weight I noticed definitely within the first week to two weeks because you’re just cutting off that inflammation, it’s really fast.” Olivia also said her acne started to lighten up within a couple of weeks of starting the treatment.

And it wasn’t just Olivia who noticed a difference. Her friends have told her: “You never looked better.” She explained: “I think the difference this time is maybe losing some weight and getting cleaner skin. Because I’m so healthy from within, it is like you’re giving a different glow.”

Olivia’s pal Kim has also noticed a change and has been very supportive of the 34-year-old’s journey. Olivia told us: “She knows I was going through something and she’s very supportive and yeah, we talk about skincare all the time.

“She has her brand SKKN BY KIM, I’ve talked about products with her, told her what I was eating, kind of some tricks of the trade and she was like, ‘Oh let me know’ so yeah, we always give our beauty things back and forth for sure, she’s the best.”

Glow Beauty can become quite pricey, with a full reset lasting six to eight weeks costing up to $2,400 (£1,890). However, Olivia said the price didn’t put her off.

She explained: “You get what you pay for. But also, if you’re investing in yourself, it’s like getting your hair done, your nails done. Maybe you don’t go to the restaurant, or order the Uber Eats a few less times a month and by the time it all adds up to doing your gut reset.”

Olivia added: “I do obviously see there could be a pricey aspect to it but I’d just reframe how you think about it and when you’re changing from eating out and alcohol and all that stuff I’ve done, it kind of almost equals out for me.”

Glow Beauty was created by Katerina Grabic. She told us her journey began after suffering with coeliac disease and feeling “very lost with the medical system”.

Katerina added: “I struggled with weight gain, endless cardio and I had eating disorders in the past and food just didn’t seem to really sit well in my stomach. It didn’t do what it was meant to do and I just didn’t feel good after eating.

“So I kind of tried different things and was put on different medication but ultimately I decided that I wanted to learn what really was going on at the root, like why I didn’t feel good and why some people did, some people were thriving.”

Glow Beauty has grown over the last few years and Katerina said she is currently working on improving her education to be able to provide a better service to her clients. She also said she hopes to encourage people to push to get to the root of their problems.

She told us: “I think I just would like to encourage people to look at why things are happening in your body and become your own doctor in that sense. We wanna start asking why do I have this symptom, why do I have hair loss, why do I feel irritable and there’s always a reason we can heal.”
