Prince William and Princess Kate are worried Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are growing closer to two members of the Royal Family, according to an expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have become estranged from senior members of The Firm after making a number of scathing comments about their lives behind Palace doors. Royal author Tom Quinn, however, suggested they’re now reconnecting with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Quinn said this has caused unease among the Prince and Princess of Wales. He told The Mirror: “For William and Kate an alliance between Harry and Meghan and Beatrice and Eugenie is a huge worry.

“They sense that Beatrice and Eugenie feel that, as virtual outcasts themselves, they have far more in common with Harry and Megan than with any other part of the family. The situation is made worse by the fact that the senior royals’ main asset – Kate herself – is effectively out of action while she continues her treatment for cancer.”

The Princess of Wales announced back in March she is being treated for cancer and has since stepped down from public duties. Tom continued: “The worry for the senior royals is that after their tour of Nigeria, Harry and Meghan will seize the initiative, revelling in positive publicity while Kate is forced to stay in the background.”

He also said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept in close contact with Beatrice and Eugenie after moving to America. He told us: “Although Harry and Meghan have little sympathy for Prince Andrew, they’ve kept in regular contact with Beatrice and Eugenie who have always been free of any associations with Meghan’s angry, bitter time in the UK.”

Harry has always been close to Eugenie and she’s even visited him in America, with the pair seen watching the Super Bowl together back in 2022. However, while Harry seems to have stayed in touch with Beatrice and Eugenie, the same can’t be said for Princess Kate.

A friend of Kate’s has said she is not yet ready to meet with Harry and claimed he hasn’t been in touch. They said: “Meeting with Harry is the last thing that William or Catherine want or need right now.

“It’s a fantasy. It’s not about apologies or who said what, it is about protecting his family. Kate is recovering from cancer, and they are avoiding stressful situations.” Speaking to The Daily Beast, they added: “The idea that Harry and the kids are going to descend on Balmoral this summer is wishful thinking. It’s all just very sad.”
