The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is thought to “miss parts of the UK” yet is still “furious at the way she was treated” whilst part of the royal family, claims a royal expert.

The former Suits actress stepped back from the royal family in 2020 alongside her husband Prince Harry and they have settled in Montecito, California with their two children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Yet living away from the Royal Family makes the mum of two “worry that her children will blame her” for their lack of relationship with their paternal grandparents and cousins.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, royal author and expert Tom Quinn tells us: “It will be a long time before Meghan reappears in the UK – she has already publicly stated that she will not return to the UK, and her friends insist she is still furious at the way she feels she was treated during her time in Britain.”

However, it appears the Duchess has told friends that she “misses the UK” as Tom added: “On the other hand, we should always remember that phrase – ‘never say never,’ because it will come back to haunt you when you change your mind, especially if you are a public figure like Meghan. A friend of the couple – one of Meghan’s few aristocratic friends from her time in the UK – told me Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK as working royals.”

The comments come after Meghan has launched her first product for her new luxury lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. Meghan first announced her new lifestyle brand on March 14, and since then, there has been no further announcements, with many royal fans hoping to get their hands on some of the homewares and condiments teased by Meghan.

However, she’s now revealed her debut product for American Riviera Orchard, as it emerged she had sent 50 jars of homemade strawberry jam to friends and social media influencers on Monday. Those receiving the limited edition samples have shared them to social media, showing the small jars with handwritten labels featuring the American Riviera Orchard logo and ‘Montecito’ underneath, as well as the words “17 of 50”, indicating the batch of jam is a small production run.

With strawberry jam the first product from the brand, it’s thought that Meghan could face competition against her estranged royal family. Fans online have pointed out that Meghan’s brother-in-law could go head to head with her as strawberry jam from Prince William ’s Duchy of Cornwall estate is currently available for £2.80 a jar at Waitrose.
