Josh Brolin remains clueless on the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The recent films released by Marvel Studios have suffered a great amount of disappointment due to their box-office failure and negative critical reviews. It seems the trend in the franchise went on the downhill path after 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.

Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame
There’s no denying that Endgame was the culmination of the stories that fans loved for eleven years. The franchise that started with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and ended with his sacrifice emerged as the second-highest-grossing movie of all time. How can any of the new Marvel films beat that?
Josh Brolin Doesn’t Know If Marvel Studios Can Achieve The Same Success Of The Infinity Saga
Josh Brolin shares the concern of fans about the fate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He played the terrifying villain Thanos in several installments, but most recognizably in Infinity War and Endgame. He told Jake Hamilton via Jake’s Takes:
“It’s an undeniable thing, and Marvel will go on to make great movies, and I think this new Deadpool is going to be fantastic, but Marvel had a 10-year bookended thing with Downey that I think will always be considered very, very special. I don’t know if they could do that again so I don’t know if that’s the end of that.”
One of the main problems that Marvel Studios and other giant comic book movie franchises face today is superhero fatigue. After years of dominating the industry, fans have felt the burnout from watching too many superheroes on the screen.

To combat this, Marvel boss Kevin Feige provided a solution that he thinks would cure it. He told The Movie Business Podcast:
“[A] way to do that is adapting them into different genres and what types of movies we want to make… We adapt them in a way that the audience still, knock on wood, so far is following us along 22 plus years later with, that we can tell any types of movies that share two things: the Marvel Studios logo above the title and a seed of an idea from our publishing history.”
It’s been a wonderful journey for fans of the MCU, but when something becomes too much, people also get tired or fed up. It’s good, though, that the studio has a way to combat this.

Marvel Actors Have No Clue About Their Characters’ Future
Avengers: Infinity War
Apart from the movies, many Marvel stars are also uncertain of their character’s fate in the franchise. Paul Rudd, for example, does not think Ant-Man has a massive future in the MCU after the flop of Ant-Man 3. Chris Hemsworth also has no idea what will happen to Thor in the next few years.
Meanwhile, the once-promising actor Jonathan Majors has faced conviction after he was charged with assault. Kang the Conqueror was considered the next big villain after Thanos, and now the character is hanging by a thread.
It’s easy to see why a lot of fans are doubting the future of the MCU, but with every problem, there is a solution. Only time will tell if Feige’s strategy will work in the long run.
