Eamonn Holmes has been keeping his fans updated on his health journey as he battles chronic pain after last year’s spine operation, and the TV legend has been inundated with support

Eamonn Holmes has been showered with compliments from fans, claiming he looks “20 years younger”.

The 64-year-old broadcaster recently sparked worry among his followers when his wife Ruth Langsford hadn’t posted about him on social media for a while. However, Eamonn’s latest Instagram update showed him looking rejuvenated and youthful, donning a white T-shirt and black jacket, gazing into the camera.

In his caption, Eamonn informed his followers about the travel disruptions caused by the weather, casting doubt over his appearance on GB News Breakfast. He said: “High winds playing havoc with flights today. Not sure you’ll be seeing me on @GBNews Breakfast tomorrow the way things are going? Been in Glasgow airport since 11am.”

However, it was his seemingly age-defying appearance that stole the show, as fans rushed to comment on his youthful visage. One admirer remarked: “Looking much younger these days Eamonn.” Another fan exclaimed: “You look 20 years younger.” Someone else quipped: “Wow Eamonn… looking 30 yrs younger here! ! ! !” A fourth said: “You are looking younger every time I see you on here! ! !”, with another adding: “Wow looking so well and so much younger you look amazing. Hope u get home soon.”

TV veteran Eamonn recently spoke candidly about his health struggles following his spinal operation last year, sharing an image of his physiotherapy session with his loyal followers. He let them into a critical part of his daily life as he battles persistent pain. In a poignant Instagram post, Eamonn showcased the harsh reality of his condition, by posting a snapshot in which he is visibly grimacing during his physiotherapy appointment.

The beloved presenter can be seen nestled in comfortable fleece and jeans, his leg elevated by the therapist, eyes tautly closed and lips contorted in obvious distress. The caption accompanying the shot read: “More painful than it looks…. I do a lot of pushing and Johnny a lot of pulling. This is most days for me #Rehab.”

Fans did not hesitate to rally around him, with an outpouring of supportive comments. A fan’s comforting words read: “Keep plugging away Eamonn, you got this,” accompanied by a prayer hand emoji. In 2021, the father-of-four told fans he had done something to his back, but was unclear exactly what was causing the subsequent chronic pain.

At the time, he shared: “Those of you who follow me on social media will know [that] about a month ago I did something to my back. I don’t know how I did it – getting into the car, getting out of a car, getting out of bed, whatever. I’ve got an MRI scan, but the trouble is, everything closes for Easter, I haven’t got it analysed yet, but what I do know is, I can’t sleep at night.”
