Wedding Crashers actress Isla Fisher has been spotted without her wedding ring for the first time after announcing the end of her marriage to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen last week

Isla Fisher is living life as a single woman following her split from estranged husband Sacha Baron Cohen, with the Australian actress snapped out and about in public without her wedding ring for the first time.

Blithe Spirit actress Isla, 48, looked in a reflective mood as took a stroll around north London just days on from announcing she and Borat star Sacha jointly filed to divorce last year.

Wearing sunglasses and clutching a cup in her ringless left hand, Isla chatted on her mobile phone as she took her dog on a walk in the wake of revealing her marriage of over a decade has come to an end.

Isla and Sacha, who wed in 2010 and share three kids, made the announcement via social media on Friday night. Isla posted a light-hearted snap of the duo in tennis gear, symbolising the end of their long ‘match’.

In her statement, she shared: “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our rackets down. In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.” She continued, asking for respect during this time: “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate our family’s wishes for privacy.”

Shortly after, Sacha echoed Isla’s words by posting the same photo and message on his Instagram Stories. Fans were left reeling after the unexpected news broke, with social media buzzing from their reactions. One fan lamented on X: “Sad to hear about Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher. Relationships can be challenging, but I hope they both find peace and happiness moving forward.” Meanwhile, another quipped: “Liza Minnelli has outlived Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher’s marriage. They are divorcing after many years together.”

Sacha hit the headlines earlier this year after being branded an “a**hole” by actress Rebel Wilson following claims he “humiliated” her in her new memoir Rebel Rising. Rebel worked with Sacha on the 2016 movie The Brothers Grimsby and in her book, she claims the 52-year-old actor made her feel “humiliated” when he allegedly asked her to perform a lewd act – something the comedian and actor denies.

She claims she was asked to do full-frontal nudity for the movie but used a body double for the scenes. She recently named Sacha as the actor and writer she claimed tried to stop her from mentioning him in her memoir. However, she told fans she “will not be bullied or silenced by high-priced lawyers” as she revealed him as the previously unidentified “massive a**hole”.

In a statement, Sacha’s representative said: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsbys.”

In her book, she pens: “The movie bombed, which to me was karma enough. I’m not about canceling anybody and that’s not my motivation for sharing this story. I’m sharing my story now because the more women talk about things like this, hopefully the less it happens.”

Sacha and Isla’s journey began in 2001 when their paths crossed at a Sydney party, leading to a whirlwind romance. They got engaged in 2004, but it wasn’t until six years later that they said ‘I do’ in a romantic Parisian ceremony surrounded by close family and friends. Together, they have three children; Olive, their firstborn, came into the world in 2007, followed by Elula in August 2010, and their son, Montgomery, who was born in March 2015.

Despite Isla announcing their split in 2023, it appears the duo had been keeping up appearances for some time. As recently as February this year, Isla hinted that all was well in her marriage, sharing details of the couple’s Valentine’s Day celebrations.

While on the Kelly Clarkson show, the ex-Home and Away star revealed: “Every year, Sacha does give me a card that [says] ‘Happy Valentine’s Day from…’ and then there’s a massive question mark. As if anybody else would send me one! As if I have any other Valentines, I’m a mother of three!”

In an interview 18-months ago, Isla showered praise on her now-estranged husband, raving about her deep admiration and plans to work together in film with the London-bred Borat superstar. Isla confessed she still had “butterflies” around Sasca crediting their robust relationship to a solid foundation of “great friendship” and that he was “the funniest person.”

Former Home And Away actress Isla recalled how the father of her three children was instrumental in propelling her comedy acting career, a move which led her to become a regular in many high-profile Hollywood blockbuster films. When asked for the secret to a lasting marriage in the limelight, she responded: “I wish I had an answer. Like all parents of small children I am doing my best to keep my kids anonymous and have as normal a life as possible.

“And like all wives and husbands, who travel for work, we try to do date nights. I do my best. I am just really lucky as he is the funniest person and we have a really great friendship as a foundation. You still get butterflies in your stomach and people sort of tell you that wears off after a few years. But when you’re with the right person, actually it just doesn’t. I don’t want to stand on a soapbox and advise anybody, but if you marry someone that you have a really good friendship with and everything else seems to fall into place.”
