Dancing on Ice crowned its 2025 winner on Sunday night.

Dancing on Ice fans fumed, “We’ve been robbed,” after the 2025 winner was announced.

During tonight’s (March 9) live final, Coronation Steet star Sam Aston went up against ex-footballer Anton Ferdinand and Springwatch star Michaela Strachan, with all three hoping to become this year’s champions.

The three finalists and their professional partners first took to the ice to perform a showcase routine they hoped would see them lift the trophy at the night’s end, with all of them scoring a perfect 40 from the judges.

When the voting lines closed an hour into the show for the first time, the third-place couple was announced as Anton and his pro partner Annette Dytrt.

Once the voting re-opened, Michaela and Sam were then left to perform routines inspired by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s famous Bolero in a bid to be crowned the winner of Dancing on Ice.

After two epic performances, hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern revealed that Sam and his partner Molly Lanaghan had become the champions.

However, some Dancing on Ice viewers were frustrated that Michaela didn’t win, as it has been 12 years since a female has lifted the trophy.

“Michaela didn’t win this is literally a joke sorry,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: “Ah c’mon Michaela’s been robbed!” (sic(

“Well there goes our last chance for a female winner,” a third fan said, with another similarly sharing: “Not happy with the winner Michaela deserved that trophy.”

Meanwhile, other viewers have shared their delight at Sam winning the series, with one writing: “Congrats Sam!! Worthy winner!”

“Yessss Sam you won it so proud of you voted for you since the start,” another added, while a third praised Sam’s bolero routine: “I have to say Sam’s bolero was the best by a country mile.”

Speaking after his win, an astounded Sam said that he was “over the moon,” adding: “I’ve literally got no words.”

Runner-up Michaela explained how much the experience has meant to her: “It’s been an amazing journey and I feel that I’m a winner to get this far with Mark, and it’s been fantastic.”

“You’ve done it for the girls. More importantly, you’ve done it for the women, let me tell you that,” host Holly concluded.
