ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has made a grim prediction for the Golden State Warriors.

In the last decade, the Warriors have created one of the most successful NBA dynasties in recent memory.

Led by head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors won five Division titles, six Conference titles, and NBA titles between 2015 and 2022.

However, with just one win in their last six games, ESPN’s Smith believes their dynastic run has come to an end.

“The dynasty is over. Change is coming,” he declared on his podcast.

“There is no way that Joe Lacob, the owner, Peter Guber, the owner for the Golden State Warriors is going to sit here and tolerate what we’ve been witnessing this year. They’re a mediocre team.”

This follows their 114-110 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, during which star Steph Curry was limited to just 30 minutes.

“The reality of the situation is they’ve been suspect all year long,” Smith said.

“Steph Curry hasn’t, he is still a superstar in this game, and I don’t blame Steve Kerr for wanting to protect him and not run him into the ground.

“I don’t blame Steve Kerr for demanding that somebody else step up and show a pulse and show that they can produce.”

As for Curry’s teammates, Smith was less complimentary.

He claimed there have been questions for some time regarding when Andrew Wiggins would “get going.”

“One game he explodes, the next he disappears,” Smith then said of Klay Thompson.

Later, when discussing Draymond Green, Smith said, “Forget the suspension and his time away, we know that was bad.

“But we also know that when he’s on the court he elevates them defensively, but he can be a liability offensively.”

And the stats from Sunday’s game seem to reinforce Smith’s points.

Despite being limited in minutes, Curry led the team with 31 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Wiggins, Thompson, and Green combined for 43 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.

The Warriors now sit 10th in the Western Conference with a 36-34 record, narrowly ahead of the red-hot Houston Rockets at 36-35.

Ime Udoka’s team have now won nine of their last 10 games, and could yet take the final Play-In spot from Golden State.

Next up for Kerr and the Warriors is a trip to Florida to play the Miami Heat on Tuesday, followed by the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The Rockets will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday, with the Utah Jazz coming to H-Town on Friday.
