NFL fans have urged Carrie Underwood to perform at the Super Bowl 60 halftime show.
The demands have come after the country singer Underwood appeared last month at President Donald Trump’s inauguration and sang America The Beautiful.
Grammy-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar performed the halftime show of Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
He was joined by special guest and R&B singer SZA as the performance was praised by fans.
After the Eagles’ 40-22 win over the Chiefs, NBC posted on X, promoting next season’s Super Bowl which will be broadcast on their network and set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Plenty of fans in the comments shared their opinion that the former American Idol winner Underwood should perform at halftime.
“We want a halftime show with Carrie Underwood,” one wrote.
“Next year the Super Bowl halftime show needs to have Carrie!” another added.
“Next year, the Superbowl halftime show will feature Morgan Wallen & Carrie Underwood in a musical reboot of “The Dukes of Hazzard,” a third added.
Underwood being part of an NBC production would make plenty of sense.
The 41-year-old has sung the theme song of NBC’s Sunday Night Football every year since 2013.
Unfortunately for Underwood, the eight-time Grammy winner suffered a huge technical error during her inauguration performance.
There were several seconds of awkward silence on live TV when the music for America The Beautiful was supposed to be playing.
Underwood, and the whole room, seemed confused at the sequence.
She then belted out the tune acapella and received mostly positive reviews for her performance.
However, after the mishap, a source told The U.S. Sun, that Underwood has been “second-guessing” agreeing to sing at the ceremony.
The NFL usually announces the Super Bowl halftime performer during the regular season.
The league announced in September that the 22-time Grammy winner Lamar would headline the Super Bowl 59 halftime show in New Orleans.
During his performance, a protestor was spotted on the stage at the Caesars Superdome waving a combined Palestinian and Sudanese flag
The individual, a man, appeared out there for several minutes before being noticed by security.
He then jumped off the stage and ran onto the field before being tackled by a security worker.
The protestor was detained but will not face charges, the New Orleans police revealed.
The man, however, has been banned from all 32 NFL stadiums.
