The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed a former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver to a one-year deal.
The Steelers are heading into 2024 with a very different quarterback room, and they’re looking to give their new veteran signal-caller the best weapons possible. The AFC North outfit added Russell Wilson to their roster earlier in the offseason, signing the nine-time Pro Bowler to a deal following his release from Denver.
They have also fashioned a trade that’s seen Justin Fields join them on the back of the Chicago Bears’ decision to draft Caleb Williams at No. 1.

A new wideout has also been added, with Quez Watkins coming in after four years with the Eagles.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Watkins has agreed to a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers following their failure to land another WR. The team is said to have been planning to meet with Mike Williams, but he signed with the New York Jets before visiting them.

Watkins was only able to play nine games for Philly last season due to injury. He made 15 receptions for 142 yards and a touchdown during the regular season. He caught three passes in their playoff loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The speed merchant will join George Pickens, Calvin Austin, and Van Jefferson in the receiving room.
The Pittsburgh Steelers Have Announced Their Starting QB
Meanwhile, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has confirmed that Russell Wilson will be the starting quarterback in 2024. There were some questions after the team brought Fields in from Chicago, but Tomlin has said that the veteran will be the main man.
Wilson joined the team on a one-year, $1.5 million deal after two disappointing seasons with the Broncos. He could afford a veteran’s minimum as he will be paid north of $80 million by the Broncos over the next two years.
