A former defensive back for the San Francisco 49ers has been handed a sentence following a conviction for a hit-and-run incident.

Tim McKyer, a three-time Super Bowl champion who spent 12 years in the NFL, was facing serious jail time after being charged with five counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage after a collision at a parking garage in Riviera Beach, Florida on February 19.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the former NFL standout has cut a deal that will require him to complete a pretrial diversion program in order for the charges against him to be dropped.

Former San Francisco 49ers Star Tim McKyer Wrecked Several Vehicles

The former San Francisco 49ers DB is accused of slamming his Tesla into five vehicles. According to police, they all had visible damage, with some of them “inoperable.”

Authorities also claim that McKyer backed his Tesla into an open space on a different floor of the garage and then left without letting anyone know about the damage he caused.

Court documents show that officers observed that McKyer showed signs of intoxication and struggled to keep his balance after they contacted him. He was apprehended for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and was taken to a nearby hospital.

The 60-year-old was subsequently placed under arrest and was hit with five charges, having admitted he was the only one who had driven his car on the evening in question.

McKyer won two Super Bowls with the Niners in 1988 and 1989, winning another with the Denver Broncos in 1997.
