A former ESPN host has been found guilty of murder following the disappearance of a woman in 2019.
Michelle Troconis saw a jury rule against her in a murder trial that has brought some closure to a case that left New England both intrigued and horrified.
Troconis is believed to have conspired with prominent businessman Fotis Dulos to murder his wife, Jennifer Dulos, as part of a love triangle gone awry.
A six-person jury met for over two hours of closing arguments at a Stamford Superior Courtroom this Friday before determining guilt. Troconis was also found guilty of hindering prosecution, conspiracy to commit tampering with physical evidence, and tampering with physical evidence.
The video below shows Troconis breaking down in tears while the verdicts are read out.
Per CNN:
“Jennifer Dulos was last seen in May 2019 after dropping her children off at school. … She was in the middle of a contentious divorce and custody battle with Fotis Dulos at the time of her disappearance …
“Despite her body never being found, Dulos was officially pronounced dead through a declaration of death by a Connecticut judge in October 2023 … She likely suffered a combination of “traumatic, blunt-force injuries,” according to the state’s chief medical examiner. Authorities found a blood-like stain in three places on her vehicle, which was parked in her garage in New Canaan.”
Fotis Dulos committed suicide after he was charged in connection with his wife’s disappearance.
Troconis worked for ESPN in South America. According to her attorney, the verdict has left her devastated.
Her family has branded it “a tremendous injustice” with claims they will protest her innocence “forever.”
Michelle Troconis is facing up to 50 years in prison.
