It looks like one Belichick wil be back on the New England Patriots in 2024.

Brian Belichick, the youngest son of former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and New England’s safeties coach for the past four seasons, is remaining with New England and will join Jerod Mayo’s staff, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.

Reiss noted that Belichick has a strong working relationship with Mayo, who was named the 15th head coach in franchise history after the team and Bill Belichick had parted ways.

Brian Belichick has been in Foxborough for eight seasons, spending the past four years as the team’s safeties coach.

It remains to be seen what Belichick’s exact role with the Patriots will be in 2024 as he just might slide right back in as the team’s safeties coach under Mayo and recently promoted defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington.

While Brian Belichick will stick with New England, his older brother, Steve, agreed to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Washington earlier this week.

Days after Mayo took over as New England’s head coach, it was reported that both Belichick brothers were “offered the opportunity to return” to New England’s coaching staff. They would’ve likely joined their father’s staff if he had actually landed a job somewhere.

He interviewed twice with the Atlanta Falcons, and although he was offered the job, he would turn it down and they would hire Raheem Morris.
