Billie Faiers opens up about her stepdad Dave Chatwood’s health on the first episode of series six of Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries, admitting it was a “complete shock”

Billie Faiers opens up about her stepdad Dave Chatwood’s health on the first episode of series six of Billie and Greg: The Family Diaries.

The former TOWIE star, 34, is back for a new series of her hit ITVBe reality show with husband Greg Shepherd and their three children Nelly, Arthur and Margot. In an exclusive clip obtained by the Mirror of episode one, Billie and Greg discuss her stepdad Dave, also known as Chatty, after a heartbreaking admission.

Speaking in a VT, Billie says: “Recently, dad told us that after he’d spoken to the doctor about his health, they had said to him that he had about 15 months left if he carried on doing what he was doing, which was a complete shock to us. We don’t want dad to throw his life away and we certainly don’t want our children to grow up without their granddad.”

It then shows Greg driving with Chatty to which he says: “Now, come on, I want you to be honest with me now… what’s happening? One minute we’ve got a phone call, me and Billie, from yourself saying you’ve got 15 months to live if you don’t change your ways and a week later, you ring us up saying everything’s fine and you’re 100% okay” to which Chatty replies: “Yeah, that’s what he said!”

Talking in a VT, Greg says: “When I try and talk to Chatty about his health problems, you don’t really get too much back and he doesn’t open up enough like he should.” It comes as Billie had an honest chat with stepdad Chatty about his health last year on the show, where it was explained that his blood tests had been followed up by his GP.

Prior to Chatty arriving, Billie told husband Greg: “He can be quite in denial about things, dad doesn’t want to know. When I rung him and asked about his results, he was like: ‘Oh no, yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s fine.'” Speaking in a VT, Billie explained: “Dad’s found out that his liver results are abnormal and after telling the doctors that he drinks a lot more than what he should do, daily, the doctor is concerned because they do think his health could be at risk.

“It kind of goes in waves. There can be weeks, months, everything’s fine and then obviously there’s times where it gets out of control. Having these tests are the first that we know are 100% legit. Like we know what he’s been tested for” with Greg adding, “It’s the first time we’ve seen the results because he never, he tells us he’s alright, but we’ve never actually seen the results!”

Billie continued: “Today, I just want to have a really honest chat with him and no one’s judging him, we just want to support him and help him in any way we can.” Billie added at the time: “You know, obviously for us, as his family, we don’t want to see him throw his life” to which she broke down in tears, continuing: “Sorry!” with Greg rushing to comfort his crying wife.
