Beyond Paradise has revealed a first look at the upcoming episode of the BBC drama as a wedding looms for Humphrey Goodman and Martha Lloyd

Beyond Paradise have given us a first look at tonight’s episode of the BBC drama.

DI Humphrey Goodman is back to solve a brand new case, all whilst facing the pressure from the Chief Superintendent about the possible closure of the local police station. Meanwhile, Martha’s mum Anne found out the true identity of the man she’d been seeing, and that he had been lying to her and wasn’t who he really said he was.

Elsewhere, a wedding is looming for Humphrey and Martha, who have decided to tie the knot. Anne has thrown herself into helping with the wedding planning, despite the pair wanting a small ceremony.

In the clip shared exclusively with The Mirror, Anne is clearly still reeling from Peter’s betrayal. Whilst Humphrey and Martha admit that they haven’t had time to plan their wedding, Anne decides she needs to step in and get things going – but both Martha and Humphrey are clearly worried about how she is taking all what went on.

Last week, viewers found out that the man Anne met on the dating app, who she knew as Richard, was actually called Peter and he had a wife. Anne was shocked to find this out when she surprised him at an art event she had been asked to attend.

Whilst Peter’s deceit was clear, fans have been speculating that his admission wasn’t as simple as it seemed – and there may have been a reason why he lied, although things were clearly fine between him and his wife.

Speaking to us last week before the scenes aired, Peter Davison – who plays Richard/Peter – shared: “Well obviously it starts off as a kind of a blossoming romance. And I think they seem to get on very well and Barbara’s character is ok with it and Sally Bretton’s character is not very happy with her mother getting involved too quickly and it’s a case of who turns out to be right.”

When pressed further on what might happen, he said: “I suppose you have to hope they are disappointed … I think I said to the producer at one point, am I gonna get a chance to explain. I suppose it’s important that they are disappointed in a way because that’s the idea, isn’t it? Well the thing is, it is rather baffling – so there must be something behind it.”

Some fans are convinced that Humphrey’s wedding could spell a return for Death In Paradise stars Ralf Little and Josephine Jobert – who played Neville Parker and Florence Cassell – if they head to the pair’s nuptials. The duo quit the BBC show when they decided to give their relationship a go after finally confessing their feelings to one another.
