Perkins appeared on First Take on Friday and shared why he thinks Golden State has to decide what’s best for the franchise and move off Green.

ESPN show host Molly Qerim and NBA analyst Jay Williams joined alongside him.

Star First Take host Stephen A. Smith was absent from the show.

He has been out of the ESPN studios all week, taking some time off.

With Smith out, Perkins stepped in for the segment and sounded off on the four-time NBA champion.

Perkins expressed Green is “stuck in his ways” and urged the Warriors to trade him in the offseason.

“It’s time for the Warriors to part ways with Draymond Green,” Perkins said.

“Mike Dunleavy, Joe Lacob, Steve Kerr, and Steph Curry — they’re gonna have that tough conversation in the offseason. ”

“Because once a person shows you who they are, you have to believe them. Like we say about a lot of old people, they’re stuck in their ways.”

“Well, Draymond Green is a veteran, and he is stuck in his ways.”

‘They can’t guard a parked car,’ says Kendrick Perkins as First Take guest lays into Los Angeles Lakers in on-air rant-
Perkins pointed to Green’s incident last season when he struck his teammate Jordan Poole in the face during a team practice and how the Warriors have given him several chances to improve.

“When you look at the Jordan Poole incident and what happened with that, Steph Curry and Steve Kerr had Draymond Green’s back,” Perkins said.

“Then, this year, what he did with [Jusuf] Nurkic [Phoenix Suns center], Steph Curry again had his back. Steve Kerr had his back.”

The ex-Boston Celtics champion finished his point by detailing his concern for Steph Curry and his increasingly growing frustration with Green’s constant actions.

“Draymond talked about him and Kerr crying and sharing a moment. Then you get here on a back-to-back in a must-win situation, and Green gets ejected.”

“We watched Steph Curry the emotions. how emotional he was. He’s exhausted.”

“The fanbase of Golden State is exhausted. Steve Kerr is exhausted — and rightfully so.”

“Draymond Green is not going to change.”

Qerim agreed with Perkins’s comments.

Green was ejected less than four minutes into their 101-93 win over the Orlando Magic.

After the contest, Curry spoke to the media and expressed his disappointment in Green’s being tossed in a big game.

“All I’ll say is we’ll need him,” Curry told reporters.

“He knows that. We all know that. So whatever it takes for him to be on the floor and available, that’s what’s got to happen—especially at this point in the year.”

“Draymond Green is not going to change.”

Green took up for his action in his latest podcast on Thursday and said he deserved to be ejected.

“It just can’t happen. I said what I said, and I deserved to get kicked out after that point,” Green said.

“If I’m all the way honest with y’all, I kinda was trying to turn my body and angle it and go to the bench; I said what I said a little too soon before angling my body to the bench. But, yeah, it just can’t happen.”

Green has already been suspended twice by the NBA this season for hitting Nurkić in the face and placing Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert in a chokehold.
