EXCLUSIVE: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to the US in 2020 after they stepped down as senior working members of the Royal Family.

Meghan Markle married into the Royal Family and thought “she could change the institution”, and now that she’s back living in the US, the American public is “starting to see through her”, according to a royal biographer.

Daily Express US spoke exclusively to Andrew Lownie, author of Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor, who says: “I think she is a very destructive force, and I think on the American side, people can see through her.

“She felt like she could change the institution, rather than go in and work from within. Meghan thinks everyone is going to bow to her, and she can do exactly what she wants and she’s not part of a team.

“And she knows better than the institution that has evolved over a thousand years.”

Meghan is compared to the late Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor, on a regular basis.

This is because both women were ambitious American actresses who married into the Royal Family and soon after, their husbands both resigned from their roles as senior working royals one being… the King of England.

The Sussexes now reside in the US, with Harry recently listing the US as his permanent residence in official paperwork.

Daily Express US spoke to Press Box PR’s Lynn Carratt who said: “He’s not going to put that the UK is his home because it’s not been his home for some time.

“His heart isn’t in the UK anymore.”
