However, Lyric Anderson, daughter of former NBA All-Star Kenny Johnson, has taken up a career as a model and actress.

Kenny Anderson was drafted by the New Jersey Nets with the second pick in the 1991 NBA Draft.

At 21 years old, he was the youngest player in the NBA when he entered the league.

In his third season, Kenny averaged 18.8 points per game with 9.6 assists per game which earned him his first and only All-Star selection.

He was never able to sustain that All-Star level but went on to play an impressive 18 years in the NBA.

Over his career, he scored a total of 10,789 points with 5,196 assists and started in 693 games.

Anderson earned $63 million over the course of his career but filed for bankruptcy in 2005 after losing it all.

He was able to turn things around though, and since 2018 he has been the head coach of the Fisk University basketball team.

His daughter, Lyric, has found success as an actress and model.

Lyric started finding success when she studied with Troy Rowland. She starred next to actor Richard T. Jones and appeared in The Troy Shawn Welcome Project.

She started breaking into the film industry at a young age but found a passion for modeling while she was working as an actress.

“I ended up falling in love with the fashion industry as I approached my teenage years, and decided to focus on modeling,” Lyric said to Femi Magazine.

“I signed with Ford Models and booked numerous campaigns and print work. To date, I’ve walked in both New York and Los Angeles Fashion Week.”

She stepped away from modeling in 2022 to move back into the film industry and got a role starring in the drama Haus of Vicious.

Lyric hasn’t been credited in any roles since starring in the show but said she is open to auditioning for new opportunities.

“I am open to auditioning and considering opportunities. I think that’s the fun part about acting—portraying a wide range of characters and not necessarily knowing what kind of role will come next,” she said.
