A Place In The Sun viewers blasted a couple they deemed ‘the worst ever seen on the show’ for their ‘downright rude and nasty’ behaviour during Thursday’s instalment.
An episode of the Channel 4 programme last week saw builder Karl and executive coach Sonia try and bag the perfect home in Charente, France, for £160,000.
The pair, who met two years prior and live in North Yorkshire, wanted to move to the French countryside and tie the knot.
Karl and Sonia wanted to make sure that their home was big enough for Karl’s grown up kids and his grandchildren, with a huge kitchen, at least three bedrooms, and stunning views.
The two asked for help from expert Craig Rowe and he took them to a number of properties he thought might tick off all the boxes.
However the tours really didn’t go to plan and they shared how none of the options were up to scratch.

An episode of the Channel 4 programme last week saw builder Karl and executive coach Sonia try and bag the perfect home in Charente, France, for £160,000, with the help from Craig Rowe
After seeing the first one, Karl said: ‘It’s not for us at all. Sonia wouldn’t be happy, I wouldn’t be happy. We couldn’t live here.’
He wasn’t happy with the second either, claiming from his first glance that the windows were too small.
It did seem to impress them a little more, and Craig was convinced that the secret swimming pool would have definitely swayed them.
However Sonia said: ‘When I see swimming pool, I think maintenance.’
They also described the home as ‘depressing’.
And shockingly, Karl didn’t like the third property, insisting it was too close to the neighbours.
Expert Craig told the pair: ‘I just cannot give you everything! I can’t do it.’

Expert Craig found it hard to please the couple – telling them ‘I just cannot give you everything! I can’t do it’
Things were going well and everything inside was perfect, however they weren’t happy with the garden or views outside, so decided to cut the viewing short and move on.
Finally, the fourth property appeared to impress the couple, who said it was ‘the most exciting’ they’d seen.
Karl confessed: ‘I like it,’ and Sonia replied: ‘That’s brilliant!’
But there was a lot of work to be done to it.
The final property, which had the lowest asking price, seemed to interest them, but Karl pointed out that the rooms upstairs felt too low.
At the end of the episode, Karl and Sonia met up with Craig to share their plan of action.
And after viewing five properties, they didn’t want to make an offer on any of them – not even the one they were interested in.
Sonia said: ‘We’ve decided that we need to give ourselves time.
‘Maybe in a couple of years. We’re working with our cash, so when our property is sold, we’ll be in a much better position.’
Karl added: ‘We’re coming here for definite, and we appreciate everything that you’ve shown us.
‘It’s given us a different view on different things, it’s really been enlightening.’
Those watching the show at home couldn’t believe their eyes and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain about the pair.
One wrote on the social media platform: ‘Dearie me, I think this pair are honestly the worst couple I’ve ever seen on #aplaceinthesun Talk about downright rude! Poor Craig.’
Another added: ‘PoorCraig. Watching on +1 that first house was lovely.’
A third chimed in: ‘All I can say Craig is [clapping emojis].’
‘#aplaceinthesun Poor Craig, he really earned his money today,’ a fourth added.
Craig took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to thank the viewers for their support

And Craig even took to X himself to talk about the episode.
He said: ‘Loving the banter here tonight 🙂 Thanks for watching guys x #aplaceinthesun.’
A fan replied to his tweet: ‘Patience of a saint.’
Another said: ‘What a nightmare couple.’
‘Well done for keeping your cool with this pair,’ a third wrote.
